Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf and White House infrastructure coordinator Mitch Landrieu say the $7.9 billion from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has directly helped Pennsylvania improve its infrastructure, create jobs and improve the environment.

“This $7.9 billion infrastructure investment is really an investment in people,” Wolf said in a release Tuesday. “It’s an investment in safe travels to work, family and friends, an investment in a secure supply chain, the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe. I am grateful for President Biden’s leadership and this bold investment to build a better future for all Americans.”

The measure, signed into law by Biden in 2021, has helped fund Amtrak routes across the Eastern seaboard.

It has also helped repair Philadelphia International Airport’s infrastructure, plus 7,540 miles of highway repairs or replacements; repaired or replaced 3,353 bridges, including Pittsburgh’s Fern Hollow Bridge; and given eligible Pennsylvanians a $30 per month reduction in their Internet bills with the Affordable Connectivity Program.

The commonwealth of Pennsylvania has received a variety of payments funds for a variety of projects.

These include $5.2 billion for road and bridge projects, at least $100 million for broadband and Internet expansion, $240 million for clean drinking water, $614.8 million for public transportation and $58 million for clean school buses.

There is also $62 million for electric vehicle infrastructure, $208 million for clean energy and energy efficiency, $119 million for airports, $110 billion for ports and waterways, $1.1 billion for flood and extreme weather preparedness measures and $349 million to cap orphaned well and reclaim mine lands.
