Candidate for U.S. Senate Dave McCormick said Vice President Kamala Harris is complicit in the ongoing border crisis, accusing Harris of allowing dangerous criminals into the country.

“Border Czar Harris let 13,000 murderers into our nation. This is who Bob Casey wants to be president,” McCormick wrote in a Sept. 27 social media post on X.

McCormick's post included a graphic from Fox News featuring immigration and crime statistics drawn from a letter by ICE Deputy Director Patrick Lechleitner. The letter revealed that more than 425,000 non-detained, non-citizen convicted criminals have entered the U.S., with approximately 13,000 of them convicted of homicide and nearly 16,000 convicted of sexual assault.

On September 18, the House Homeland Security Committee Majority published a report titled, "Crisis by Design: A Comprehensive Look at the Biden-Harris Administration’s Unprecedented Border Crisis."

Americans have witnessed "national security, public safety, and humanitarian disaster" at the southern border, according to the report.

10.2 million illegal aliens have entered the country in the last four years under the current administration.

The report notes there are "roughly" two million gotaways that Customs and Border Protection was unable to detain.

Due to current policies at the southern border, cartels and criminal groups now control who crosses the border from Mexico, according to the report.

According to the Pennsylvania Pressroom, state law enforcement seized $15.7 million worth of illegal narcotics in the last three months of 2023 alone. Throughout all of 2023, law enforcement in the state seized 246 pounds of fentanyl, along with cocaine and methamphetamine.

Mexican drug cartels, often identified as Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs), pose a significant threat to the United States, particularly through their technologically advanced criminal enterprises specializing in illicit drug and human smuggling, according to a report from the America First Policy Institute.
