Anthony Conchel, spokesman for The Empowerment Alliance (TEA) recently said that Vice President Kamala Harris's stance on fracking is inconsistent, following her statement that she does not support banning the practice despite having previously voiced opposition to it.

“Kamala Harris, throughout her campaign for president, has flip-flopped on fracking and she's been vague on energy policy in general. So this comes as absolutely no surprise to us at TEA,” Conchel told Keystone Today. “Harris was against fracking before she was for it, before she seemingly is against it again. Who really knows? Pennsylvania voters deserve a straight answer on her energy policies.”

“The Biden-Harris administration has had a plan for American energy—to make it harder to produce and more expensive to purchase,” Conchel added. “This hurts domestic energy producers and millions of working families.”

Breitbart recently reported that a senior aide to Vice President Kamala Harris said that she is retracting her previous unconditional support for fracking, a stance she publicly opposed in 2019 when she called for a ban. Camila Thorndike, Harris’s climate engagement director, indicated that Harris now does not support land leases for fracking, despite her endorsement of the Inflation Reduction Act, which included provisions for expanding such leases.

In a recent CNN interview, Harris claimed she had never supported banning fracking, contradicting her earlier position. This ambiguity raises questions about her true stance on fracking, especially in Pennsylvania, a crucial state for Democrats, where the fracking industry is vital for job creation and tax revenue. Fracking contributes significantly to the local economy, generating billions in revenue and supporting over 120,000 jobs.

The Empowerment Alliance is a non-profit organization that advocates for U.S. energy independence, focusing on the role of natural gas in maintaining energy affordability and security. The group said it supports policies aimed at ensuring reliable, domestic energy sources, and opposes policies that mandate 100% renewable energy, saying that a combination of energy sources is necessary for long-term economic stability and national security.
