FOIA Request to Tioga County Regarding Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Logs from January to October 2024 on October 7, 2024.
In a recent development, we at Keystone Today sent a request under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law, 65 §66.1 et seq., to Tioga County. The request pertains specifically to the logs of all FOIA requests received by the county from January 1, 2024, until October 7, 2024.
The information sought includes the name and organization of each requester, the content of their request, the date when each request was made and completed, as well as its current status. This comprehensive data is being sought in electronic format for ease of analysis and reporting.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe that access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
Given our role in disseminating information, we have also requested a fee waiver as media professionals under this law. We are awaiting a response from Tioga County regarding this request and will keep our readers updated on any developments.
