House Committee on Agriculture Chairman Glenn "GT" Thompson and Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman John Boozman have expressed approval following the USDA's recent decision. The department announced it will permit pork and poultry producers to operate at increased line speeds.
"This is great news for American meat and poultry companies that continuously lead food and worker safety standards worldwide," said Thompson and Boozman in a joint statement. They praised Secretary Rollins for taking swift action to enable businesses to expand operations safely and efficiently. Both chairmen anticipate ongoing cooperation with the Administration during the rulemaking process.
