Borough of Brentwood issued the following announcement on May 7.

Southwestern Pennsylvania is fortunate to have seen a significantly lower rate of coronavirus transmission than many other urban regions. However, as this disease will continue to linger with us for an extended period of time, it is vital to remain diligent. Brentwood Borough, like all organizations that facilitate the majority of their outputs via in-person operations, is working to provide the fullest slate of services possible without compromising the safety of its employees. Please note the following:

  • The municipal building remains closed to visitors. Administrative employees are available via phone or email during standard business hours. Individuals interested in participating in the month's meeting of Borough Council are asked to do so remotely via Microsoft Teams.
  • The Police Department will continue to screen calls so as to limit unnecessary face-to-face contact. Police clerical employees have returned to their regular shifts, but individuals are still encouraged to submit non-emergency requests via Crimewatch and to utilize CrashDocs for accident reports.
  • The Public Works Department has returned to conducting business during its normal hours of operation.
  • The Code Department is now able to process building permits. Association inspections will transpire in such a manner that encourages maximum physical distancing. Occupancy inspections will recommence but will take place remotely.
  • The park remains closed. Due to anticipated ongoing restrictions on large crowds, upcoming events such as Community Day and our street fair have been postponed. The Borough is making contingency plans to permit certain activities, such as outdoor exercise classes, once the Governor transitions the disaster declaration for Allegheny County to the "yellow" phase. In the interim, a variety of ideas for home-based recreational activities have been posted here.
