Several Pennsylvania lawmakers asked U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and U.S. Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) to help dispute Pennsylvania’s election results while an investigation is conducted regarding fraud.
“Today, members of the PA House and Senate request that Sen Mitch McConnell and Rep. Kevin McCarthy dispute the PA election results until an investigation is conducted into the numerous claims of fraud,” State Sen. Doug Mastriano (R-Fayetteville) tweeted.
Mastriano said the quickly certified results are not to be trusted.
In the letter, the lawmakers said there have been many increasing concerns regarding the election and that the results should not have been certified in Pennsylvania.
“Sadly, despite evidence, our Governor and Secretary of State inexplicably refuse to conduct any investigations,” the letter states. “Our Republic cannot long endure without free and fair elections, where each person has one legal vote.”
The letter says that allegations of fraudulent activity and election law violations have put Pennsylvania in the national spotlight.
“Without a thorough investigation into these allegations, the certification of the Pennsylvania election results is suspect at best,” the letter states. “This has nothing to do with overturning any election results, but rather ascertaining if the allegations of fraud corrupted the outcome of the vote.”
The lawmakers said the election was an embarrassment for the nation. They wrote that what happened during the election must be immediately addressed with facts and testimony from people in Pennsylvania.
“There are simply too many questions that remain unanswered to say that the results can be trusted and therefore the certification is premature, and the results must be disputed until an investigation is completed,” the letter states.
The letter notes findings regarding the election, such as delays in opening and closing polling locations on Election Day, a massive voter deficit, unidentified voters, as well as vote spikes and other irregularities.
