Congressman Guy Reschenthaler and other Republicans offered their support to President Joe Biden’s recently formed Department of Defense China Task Force.

The assistance was formally offered in a letter submitted to the president.

“A strong and coordinated response to CCP aggression is critical to the preservation of freedom and cannot be a partisan issue,” Reschenthaler said in his Tweet.

The Republicans told Biden in the letter that “we were pleased to see your announcement on the formation of a Department of Defense China Task Force and want to offer our assistance as your efforts begin by briefing you and your team on the China Task Force Report we released last year.”

They stressed that “addressing the generational threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is not a Republican issue or a Democrat issue – it’s an American issue. And we stand ready to work with you to hold them accountable for their malign actions.”

Republicans have previously released over 400 policy recommendations on how the country can combat the threats of the CCP.

The letter was also copied to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Assistant to the Secretary of Defense Ely Ratner, Secretary of Treasury Janet Yellen, and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas.
