Rep. Seth Grove (R-York) called out Gov. Tom Wolf's (D) administration for the unequal allocation of private funds, which have been dubbed "Zuckerbucks," to counties across the state of Pennsylvania.

"This latest report indicates the administration and the Department of State played favorites when they connected certain counties to large sums of grant funding while ignoring other counties," Grove told The Gazette. "Not only did this create unequal access to voters, but it also essentially disenfranchised voters in counties that did not receive equal funding."

The discovery of the unequal allocation came from a report published by Broad + Liberty that outlined how counties that lean Democratic had early access to the private funds and also received more on average per capita than Republican-leaning counties.

Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman (R-Bellefonte) told the Gazette, "Many lawmakers have questioned why private election grants were awarded predominantly to counties that voted for Democrats, even after accounting for population density. Now we have emails showing the Department of State, the governor's office and various left-wing groups were working together to ensure private grant money was funneled to areas where Democrats were expected to vote in droves."

Keystone Today previously published an article detailing the effect that "Zuckerbucks" had on Pennsylvania's election. The state engaged in a controversial program that allocated private funds, which were traced in large part back to Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, which has recently been rebranded as "Meta." Administrative emails show that no Republican-leaning counties were notified of available funds until they were announced publicly, while Democratic-leaning counties were notified earlier.

Following the revelation of the way that private money linked to Mark Zuckerberg was distributed, lawmakers filed a bill aimed to prevent practices like this from occurring in the future in the state of Pennsylvania, according to a report from Keystone Today.
