The Philadelphia 76ers took on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Feb. 12, and Joel Embiid put on a show with a 40-point triple-double in the 76ers' 103-93 win.

Embiid displayed his athletic ability with high-flying dunks, slick passing, shots from downtown and a mid-range game that showed off his fall-away jumper. According to ESPN, Embiid finished with 40 points, 14 boards and 10 assists.

According to his Twitter profile, Embiid is just the second 76er with a 40-point triple-double, the other being Hall-of-Famer Wilt Chamberlain. The perennial All-Star's incredible jam coming off a missed foul shot was one that had the Wells Fargo Center rocking. With 1:47 left in the first half, he had a one-handed slam over Jarrett Allen of the Cavaliers.

“It was crazy, it was cool,” Embiid told ESPN. “I was finally able to make my dreams come true."

Philadelphia came out of the gate making 11 of 14 shots to start the game and led 30-15. The Cavaliers played from behind most of the game, but they did manage to take a two-point lead in the third quarter. However, Embiid and company were able to fend off the talented Cavalier squad to secure the 10-point win.

It was the 31st consecutive game that Embiid has scored at least 25 points in a game. He was an efficient 11-for-22 from the field, highlighted by going 4-for-5 from three-point range. He not only made it to the free throw line consistently but nailed 14 of 15 shots.

Tyrese Maxey added 16 points, and Tobias Harris had 11 points. The Sixers shot 48% from the floor and were a solid 46% from deep, according to the NBA's website.

Darius Garland led the charge for Cleveland with 27 points, and Allen had 13 points, five boards and a block, according to stats provided by the NBA.

“I think our guys understand the importance of the game, but at the same time the focus is just on being who we are,” Cleveland Cavaliers Coach J.B. Bickerstaff said in a press conference. "We enjoy the tests that have been put in front of us."

Bickerstaff told ESPN that it was a good lesson for his squad, saying that a clear message was sent from the beginning of the game to the second-place Cavaliers.

“There are tests we talk about, and these are the lessons we have to learn,” Bickerstaff told the press. “It’s a matter of playing with force and playing with speed."

The win improved Philadelphia’s record to 34-22 -- and this could be just the start, with the 76ers recently ramping up their starting lineup with the addition of three-time scoring champion and current assist leader James Harden through a blockbuster trade involving Ben Simmons, who was sent to the New Jersey Nets. Harden is expected to start for Philadelphia after the All-Star break.
