Wolf: 'Gasbarre is creating and retaining good-paying jobs'

For the past seven years, the Governor’s Action Team (GAT) has invested in Pennsylvania projects that have led to hundreds of new jobs. Most recently its work has led to the expansion of industrial furnace manufacturing company Gasbarre Products, which will create and retain 172 jobs.

According to a release by Gov. Tom Wolf on Oct. 26, the company is investing $5.8 million while also leasing a 150,000-square-foot location at 835 Washington St. in St. Marys. This triples the size of the current State Street location.

“Our investment in the new facility in St. Marys provides an opportunity for Gasbarre to continue to grow and flourish where we have manufactured for nearly 50 years," Gasbarre CEO Alex Gasbarre said. “The work ethic and skills provided by past, current, and future Gasbarre team members provide a strong base for this move. We look forward to adding new team members in the coming months when the move process is completed. The people of Elk County and St. Marys will be key to our success.”

Gasbarre received a $64,000 funding proposal in a Pennsylvania First Grant through the Department of Community and Economic Development. There will be 16 new jobs created over three years, and 156 jobs will also be retained in locations at St. Marys in Elk County, Phlipsburg in Centre County, and Clearfield County locations in Dubois and Olanta.

“With four locations here, Gasbarre has a nearly 50-year presence in Pennsylvania,” DCED Secretary Neil Weaver said. “We’re very pleased to support the company’s newest expansion as they continue to grow and thrive in the commonwealth.”

Through GAT, Wolf has invested almost $18 billion leading to 431 completed projects, 48,000 new jobs and 145,400 jobs retained across the commonwealth.

“My administration remains committed to investing in businesses that want to grow here or set up shop in Pennsylvania,” Wolf said. “Gasbarre is creating and retaining good-paying jobs in some of our rural counties and helping to boost our competitive manufacturing industry – a true win for the commonwealth.”

Gasbarre was founded in 1973 and has a headquarters in DuBois. It is a full service original equipment manufacturer (OEM) that focuses on powder compaction presses as well as industrial furnace equipment. It also provides industrial automation integration and tooling and machine services.
