Taxpayers spent more than $2.5 million for “irreversible sex change interventions” on children in Pennsylvania via Medicaid between the years 2019 and 2023.
That’s according to a national database released today of hospitals and medical facilities “administering irreversible sex change interventions on children in the United States” by the organization Do No Harm.
That database shows that hospitals in the Keystone State saw 822 minors who were “sex change patients,” including 316 total surgery patients. These hospitals administered “hormone and puberty blockers” to 518 total children, and wrote 3,469 prescriptions. In all, it totaled $6,032,103 in total submitted charges.
125 of these interventions were paid for by the Medicaid program for a total of $2,517,795.
Two Pennsylvania hospitals — Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP) and UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh — made Do No Harm’s “Dirty Dozen” list, which consists of the “12 worst offending children’s hospitals promoting sex change treatments for minors,” reported Philly Leader.
CHOP saw 122 “sex change” patients, who were children, from 2019 to 2023, according to the database, including 5 surgery patients and 117 total “hormone and puberty blocker” patients. There were 768 total prescriptions written. In all, it amounted to $230,784 total submitted charges.
UPMC saw 28 “sex change patients,” including 4 surgery patients and 24 total “hormone and puberty blocker patients.” There were 123 total prescriptions written at UPMC, with $5,850 in total charges.
The issue of taxpayer funding of these procedures has gained national attention as Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris, who is in a dead heat with former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, has openly advocated for "transgender" surgeries for illegal immigrants and prisoners.
CatholicVote recently launched an ad in Pennsylvania about Harris’ support for these “sex change” procedures.
"Medicaid data shows 97 underage girls had their breasts completely removed; 14 underage girls underwent hysterectomies,” says the ad. “Sex change operations attempting to make young boys into girls. Penis amputations."
"Sound weird? Disgusting? It is. And you're paying for it."
"Kamala Harris supports these taxpayer funded sex change operations. A vote for Harris is a vote for medical experiments. On kids,” says the ad.
Pennsylvania U.S. Sen. Bob Casey (D), who is up for re-election this year, was criticized in March for his vote to fund a Philadelphia “LGBTQ” facility that advocates for “transitioning” children.
“Bob Casey requested $400,000 in taxpayer dollars be given to a local LGBTQ center that advocates for transitioning children and has a history of sexual abuse allegation,” said Steve Cortes, League of American Workers (LAW) founder, reported Keystone Today.
Cortes was referring to the Mazzoni Center, an “LGBTQ health and wellness center” in Philadelphia. The center's then-medical director Dr. Robert Winn resigned in 2017 after allegations were made that he had sexual relationships with patients of the center, reported The Daily Caller. The center provides "hormone therapy and sex-change surgeries" for children.
Casey graduated from the College of the Holy Cross, a Catholic university in Worcester, Mass., and received a Juris Doctor from the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
Nationally, 13,994 children received sex change related treatments between 2019 and 2023, according to Do No Harm’s database. This includes 5,747 sex change surgeries performed on children, and 62,682 hormone and puberty blockers prescriptions written for 8,579 pediatric patients.
“At least $119,791,202 made from sex change treatments performed on minors,” reported the organization.
