Rep. Brendan Boyle, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania's 2nd district, has recently expressed his views on social media regarding various actions taken by former President Donald Trump and their implications for workers' rights and public safety.
On January 28, 2025, Rep. Boyle commented on Trump's alleged favoritism towards wealthy allies during the inauguration and criticized his decision to remove individuals who prosecuted major corporations like Amazon and Tesla for workers' rights violations. He stated, "Trump's billionaire friends got a front row seat to the inauguration — now he's purging anyone who prosecuted Amazon and Tesla for violating workers' rights." He praised Jennifer Abruzzo and Gwynne Wilcox as "outstanding public servants" dedicated to advocating for workers.
In another tweet posted shortly after on the same day, Boyle further criticized these dismissals as detrimental to working families. He remarked that "Firing them is a blatant betrayal of working families that sends a clear signal: Trump's NLRB will no longer stand up for workers or their rights." He accused Trump of prioritizing his billionaire donors over American families.
Two days later, on January 30, 2025, Rep. Boyle addressed a tragic incident involving a collision over Washington D.C., extending condolences to the victims' families. He called for an investigation into the event while condemning Trump's attempt to attribute blame to diversity initiatives. Boyle tweeted, "My heart goes out to the families of the victims lost in the tragic collision over D.C." and described it as "shameful" that Trump was using this tragedy in such a manner.
