FOIA Request to Pennsylvania Department of State Regarding Spring Elections Candidates for Office on February 5, 2025.
Keystone Today, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, has submitted a request under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law. The request is for records detailing all candidates running in the upcoming spring elections.
The requested information includes the full names of the candidates, the office they are running for, and their party affiliation. Additionally, Keystone Today has asked for complete contact information for each candidate including their address, phone number, and email address.
As members of the media organization Keystone Today, we believe access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we have also requested a fee waiver as media professionals.
We await response from the Pennsylvania Department of State regarding this request.
