Rep. Brendan Boyle, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania's 2nd district since 2015, recently made a series of statements on social media regarding national and international political issues.
On February 19, 2025, Boyle criticized former President Donald Trump for endorsing a budget plan that would result in substantial cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act. "Last night, Trump said he wouldn't cut Medicaid. He just endorsed the House Republican budget that makes at least $880 BILLION in cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act. They'll say or do anything to get more giveaways for their billionaire donors."
Later that day, Boyle commented on Trump's stance towards Ukraine's President Zelenskyy, emphasizing the importance of supporting Ukraine against Russian aggression. "Trump's attacks on President Zelenskyy are an embarrassment to our country. The only dictator here is Vladimir Putin — who invaded Ukraine without provocation and who Donald Trump can't stop fawning over for some reason. The United States must continue to stand with Ukraine."
On February 20, 2025, Boyle expressed concerns over proposed layoffs at the IRS during tax season and its implications for tax compliance among wealthy individuals. "Firing thousands of hardworking IRS employees in the middle of tax season will be a disaster for families. And conveniently for Elon Musk, it'll make it even easier for the ultra-rich to cheat on their taxes. As always, the GOP's top priority is their billionaire donors."
