Desales University issued the following announcement on June 2.
Seniors Ian Kacergis and Trevor Leamer were each honored once again on Tuesday evening being named to the ABCA All-Region IV Second and Third-Team as announced by the organization.
Both players are earning All-Region honors for the second time after each being named to the D3baseball.com All-Region Second-Team earlier in the week. Leamer is named to the ABCA All-Region Second-Team and Kacergis to the Third-Team.
Kacergis, who also earned All-MAC Freedom First-Team and MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Year honors, finished the year with an 8-1 record and a team-low 3.14 ERA making 11 starts, totaling five complete-games, and two shutouts. Kacergis pitched a team-high 71 2/3 innings, struck out 57, and walked just five batters. Kacergis ended his career with 20 wins and 174 strikeouts to rank among the top five in both categories.
Leamer, also earned All-MAC Freedom First-Team honors, leading the team at the plate hitting .399 with 63 hits, 41 runs scored, 13 doubles, and 27 RBIs. He added five stolen bases and hit three home runs starting all 40 games for DeSales.
