Gov. Tom Wolf (D-PA) revealed that 130 Act 13 projects spanning 40 counties have been approved.
More than $18.2 million was distributed to improve infrastructure, enhance community development, and protect the environment, according to a news release from the governor's office.
"These projects will improve communities and enhance the quality of life for Pennsylvanians," Wolf said in the news release. "They are the kind of improvements and upgrades that continue to make our commonwealth a truly great place to live, work, and play."
Ten projects were approved for flood mitigation, totaling approximately $2.4 million; 94 projects were approved for greenways, trails, and recreation, totaling approximately $12.2 million; four projects were approved for sewage facilities at $73,830; one project was approved for orphan or abandoned well plugging at $150,000; and 21 projects were approved for watershed restoration and protection, totaling approximately $3.4 million, the news release noted.
The projects are funded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). The CFA was established in 2004 as part of the state's Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) "to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages," according to the DCED website.
