Jeff Brabant, Vice President of Federal Government Relations for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), appeared on WILK-AM 980 in Scranton. He discussed the potential impact of a significant tax increase on small businesses in Pennsylvania and urged Congress to make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent.

Brabant emphasized that this deduction was introduced as part of the 2017 tax law to provide a level playing field between small businesses and larger corporations. "It has empowered small business owners to overcome the economic challenges of the last few years," he stated. However, he noted that this provision is set to expire at the end of 2025.

The Main Street Tax Certainty Act is proposed legislation aimed at making this deduction permanent, which would prevent a substantial tax hike for many American small businesses. The NFIB is advocating for swift legislative action to avoid financial strain on these enterprises.

Pennsylvania small business owners are encouraged to contact their lawmakers to support the Main Street Tax Certainty Act before the expiration deadline.
